First Stop - Sacramento, CA

On April 22, we woke up and called a taxi to take us to the ship yard in Oakland to pick up our van we had shipped over from Hawaii. San Francisco's hills are known for being very steep, but DON'T EVER GET A RIDE FROM A TAXI DRIVER! They're crazy. I love rollercoasters and fun rides like them, but even I was scared. The speed limit was 25mph, but he drove 50mph, AND he waited until we were almost through the intersection to begin to slow down. Yellow lights mean "even though you're already driving 25 over, go faster to get through." Poor Steve was in the front seat and he couldn't even look out the windshield.

We got to the ship yard (thankfully in one piece), picked up our van and headed to Sacramento to visit Steve's sister, Karla. We had a wonderful time with Karla, Johnny and Keisha that day. We went to the park and got some pretty funny pictures of Johnny on the swing and slide. For dinner, Johnny (who is Italian and knows how to cook Italian) made us his Garlic Pasta. It was the best pasta I'd had in my life! Steve took pictures AND video of the whole process. Great, great stuff.

The next day was Karla's and Hailey's (Steve's niece from his other sister, Layunie) birthday. Layunie, Little Chirs (who ain't so little anymore) and Hailey came by that evening and we celebrated their birthdays. Karla refused to cut her cake, so she stabbed it instead.

We wished we could have stayed longer, but we left that night and headed back to San Fran. Mr. Roger's let us use his studio until the 26th (our payment was to wash the sheets and leave a favorite book behind), so we decided that we would do some sight seeing over there.
