Anna Karenina

I just finished the novel Anna Karenina.

I am completely underwhelmed. With all the rave reviews and awestruck reverence when English professors speak of this book, I expected a lot more.

The story was a disconnect between two stories. And, although the characters do have a small bit of interaction, the stories could have been written separately as different books.

The most refreshing part was the last few chapters where Levin does some serious soul searching, but even that does not make up for the feeling of wasted time in reading this book.
