Birthday blues

So I turned 31 today.

We had wonderful plans.

We were going to take the mini vacation at
The Lucerne Inn
that we had to cancel for our anniversary in November

Stevie helped Steve make my cake.

I think Steve did a great job for decorating his first cake . . .
freehand

We had a little celebration with the kids
before dropping them off at April's house for the night.

Then we hightailed it to
The Lucerne Inn.
A beautiful place

There are fireplaces in each room

The bed was gorgeous

And the bathroom was cozy

After looking around for a bit
we went to the restaurant for dinner.

For an appetizer,
we had seared ahi in black pepper
with mango chutney and wasabi

YUM

the main course was a seafood buffet
~ caramelized salmon
~stuffed baked haddock
~ steamed mixed veggies
~ beef tips
~ beef roast
~ pork roast
~ roasted potato wedges
~ fish chowder
~ clam chowder
~ tomato, mozzarella, basil slices
~ salad
~ shrimp scampi made to order
~ fried shrimp
~ fried haddock
~ fish cake
~ and more

For dessert
warm apple crisp

The food was divine

The service exceptional

We headed back to the room for a bit before heading out to the movie theater to watch When in Rome

We didn't get to watch it

:(

Just as we pulled into the parking lot
Negina called to let us know that Savion
was throwing up

We thought that he had a little too much frosting
that afternoon when he stole the container from Steve
while Steve was concentrating on decorating the cake

We thought he would be okay

We told them if he gets worse to call us again

We didn't think he would get worse

We were wrong

Just as Steve was paying for the tickets,
thankfully right before he actually handed the cashier his card,
we got a call back

Savion was worse

We cancelled the ticket purchase

We headed over to April's to get the kids

Savion threw up on Steve

We all went home

We left our stuff at the Inn

Steve called them to let them know that he had left the towel warmer on and that because we had to take care of our sick child we would not be coming back that evening

Savion did not throw up
at.all.
since we picked him up

he just slept
all.night.

no sign of him being sick
none.

Steve took Negina with him to the Inn in the morning to get our things and check out

They enjoyed the breakfast that came with the room reservation

They had a great Daddy Daughter Date

Happy birthday to me.

What a bummer. It sounds like a typical mommy experience. Just think of the years you'll miss them when they are all on their own. :) -Andrea Bolton
