I thought the movie was okay, as a child (Alice in Wonderland 1951), but had never read the book. I do remember thinking that it was kind of creepy and, after reading the book, I now know why. It definitely is not my kind of story, and has sealed its fate of a movie remake that I will never watch, no matter how popular it becomes.
